If you’re looking for baby bedding, you’ll find just about anything you’re looking for, from girls bedding to crib sets for boys to bedding that works for either gender. If you are thinking about buying your bedding items separately, then consider the cost – you’ll find it’s probably the most expensive option. Crib bedding sets are the equivalent of a bed-in-a-bag. The best way to coordinate your bedding with the nursery is to buy a set. Keep in mind that you can almost always buy matching crib sheets individually.

If you know what you want before you start looking, you’ll have an easier time, because there are going to be a multitude of different colors, styles, and fabrics to choose from.

Cotton is a great choice for baby bedding. It’s natural, breathable, machine washable, and relatively inexpensive.

Aside from the matching, a bedding set also offers the advantage that if you choose to redecorate, you can significantly change the look of the room by just buying a new bedding set.

Whether you know the gender of your new baby or not, make sure you buy bedding that’s going to make sense. There’s a bit of a double standard in crib bedding, though. Pink is a no for a boy, but blue is OK in a girl’s room. Since nobody wants to carry a bedding set that won’t sell, retailers pay close attention to customer’s preferences. This means you’re very likely to find what you want without any trouble. In a little boy’s room, expect to find cars, trucks, or football baby bedding. Boys’ bedding sets more often come in bright, multi-colored options than girl’s bedding does.Girls’ themes will usually incorporate characters like princesses, ballerinas, or fairies. Girl’s crib bedding has traditionally come in colors like pink and yellow, but more modern bedding incorporates stronger colors like browns or even oranges. For a gender neutral nursery, consider abstract prints in neutral colors, animals, or stars and moons.

Usually you’ll be able to find something you like, but if you have your heart set on a particular style and just can’t find it anywhere, you can look into a custom set instead.

Nothing exudes love like a handmade gift, so if you can sew, you might want to create the crib set yourself.

To minimize the time you spend searching for the right crib set, choose a budget and a theme before you get started and stick to them.
